F-Series Daylight Faceted Par: Starting from $1,673
FilmGear®'s F-series has been our most famous product line worldwide for many years, and they've lived to tell the tale. These resilient lights are equipped with faceted par reflectors that are optimized to give you the output of an open face lamphead with the smooth light quality of a Fresnel, without any of the fringing, haloes, or spottiness that you expect from other brands.
Don Mazi Mitchell, Local 728 gaffer for the NBC show “Council of Dads,” can attest to the durability of the F-Series in harsh weather conditions after using our lights on location for nearly three months in Savannah, Georgia. Despite nature’s illest intent, our F-Series withstood day after day of tropical storms in addition to the heat and humidity that Savannah is famous for, without needing to stall production for disruptions in lighting.
The F-Series comes in F18k, F12k, F9k, F6k, F4k, F1.8k, and F800. Each faceted reflector is optimized to get the most light through the UV protective lens, while maintaining an even dispersal of light. While the raw output is certainly intense, lighting professionals have been much more impressed by the light quality, praising the engineering behind the F-series reflector for producing a smooth beam absent of any defects. FilmGear®'s commitment to light quality led to the separation of the newest F12k and F6k heads from the F18k and F9k models, just so the reflector could be perfected to match each globe.
While large stages love our biggest lampheads, the versatility of the smaller F-series models, like the F1.8k, make them the favorites for smaller productions that need the brightest daylight that regular outlets can provide. You can also widen the beam angle to a remarkable 73.7° for when you need a super wide flood light.
All F-series sets come with barndoors, a head-to-ballast cable, and the electronic ballast. Additional accessories including sets of scrims and spill rings are also available for purchase.
Daylight Fresnel: Starting from $1,904
FilmGear® Daylight Fresnels come with the peace of mind knowing that they share the same durable build of the F-Series, and the same dedicated support team ready to help with maintenance, servicing, repairs, or replacements in a manner that minimizes stalls on production while also not breaking the bank. At full spot, the narrow beam angle these lights offer, down to 5°, is ideal for tight shots or even accent lighting if you’re feeling a little extra creative. Pair that with the sharp shadows produced by the smoothly diffracted light and you’ve got yourself a set up with tons of control to get the exact shot you are looking for.
These lights are available in 18/12kW, 12kW, 9/6kW, 6kW, 4kW, 4/2.5kW, 2.5kW, 1.8/1.2kW, and 1.2kW. Just like the F-Series, anything 4kW or less is generator-compatible, and anything 1.8k or less will work with regular outlets, giving you plenty of flexibility on power sources.
Both the F-Series and Fresnel HMIs come with FilmGear®'s automatically switching electronic ballasts. All FilmGear® ballasts come with a flicker-free mode for standard use, a silent mode for noise reduction, and a 300Hz high frequency mode for slow motion shoots. Gaffers that need ultra slow motion lighting can also buy the version with tunable frequency up to 1000Hz. These HMI ballasts have DMX options available as well.
Daylight Boxer Kits:
