Power LED & Daylight or Tungsten Flo-Box Sale!

The sales just keep on coming as we at FilmGear® are bringing both our Power LED and Daylight and Tungsten LED Flo-Boxes to the forefront, joining the Power Beams from last week. With Black Friday rolling around this week, these lights are going on sale for a whopping 70% OFF! What’s more, while supplies last, we’ll throw in the whole gamut of accessories for each light during this limited time offer. Whether you need a hard, punchy output or a more subtle softness, FilmGear®’s LEDs have got you covered!

Power LED: Starting from $177

Carrying on the theme of last week’s Power Beams, the Power LED line just adds further proof that we here at FilmGear® spare no expense in the way of power. Don’t be fooled by their thin form factor, the individually lensed diodes focus up to 360W of efficient LED output all into a punchy blast of light. Check out how director of photography David Berry used two daylight 360W Power LEDs to highlight the talent’s face for this wide shot under the dappled tree shade—all while running on just two portable batteries. In fact, they were about 4 stops brighter than any other battery-operable light, making them total lifesavers for competing with the sun during this outdoor golf shoot!

Local 728 gaffer Mazi Mitchell is a big fan of the Power LEDs’ efficiency as well, and adds that he loves using the Daylight and Bi-Color Power LED 360s in situations where he’s running a set without a big generator. Even for indoor shoots, Mazi will bust these lights out when he wants daylight quality with a smaller footprint than a 1.8kW HMI, or just in cases where the heat from an HMI head would be uncomfortable.

Either as an interior ambient light bounce or as an exterior moonlight bounce, Mazi’s Power LEDs have served him both indoors and outdoors, around the clock, for years, earning their spot on his 10-ton truck. He’s certainly grown to appreciate the ability to bring them out to brighten up a shot and then toss them right back into their travel cases without worrying about breaking anything. That reassuring toughness is frankly not too common among newer LEDs that haven’t proven their longevity in the field.

If you want to try these DMX-compatible lights for yourself, now’s your chance with this sweet 70% off deal on all Power LEDs and accessories. Speaking of accessories, for a limited time, get a free set of barndoors, soft box, eggcrate, and filter frames with a valid purchase of any Power LED, while supplies last!

Daylight or Tungsten LED Flo-Box: Starting from $190

Don’t need the brute punchy output of the Power LEDs? If you prefer a more diffuse light to soften your shots, look no further than FilmGear®’s lightweight yet durable LED Flo-Boxes! Just like the Power LEDs, these will be 70% OFF, but for a limited time you’ll also be getting 50% more LED Flo tubes with a valid purchase of any LED Flo-Box, and DOUBLE the Flo tubes with a valid purchase of an LED Flo-Box Twin Kit!

Check out how David Berry uses two of the 4-bank 4-ft. LED Flo-Boxes to create an even overhead light that wraps nicely around our Helios RGB space lights (cross promo!). The soft output accentuates the geometric beauty of the curved body while also hiding the shadows that would expose the harsher structural features. For close-up product shots like these, Dave loves the Flo-Boxes’ ball-and-socket grip mounts, which grant him the freedom of motion needed to line up the perfect lighting angles.

While these LED Flo-Boxes were designed to look and feel like a fluorescent fixture, they boast several improvements to their applicability as film lights. For one, they’re able to produce much more accurate daylight or tungsten spectra, with CRI and TLCI both over 95, and without any of the annoying fluorescent spikes. They’re also much more efficient than their fluorescent counterparts, drawing only about half the power for the same output. No more messing with bulky electronic ballasts either—the LED Flo-Boxes can be controlled from just a simple switch and dimmer. That effectively manages to bring the total weight down to make it one of the easiest lights to set up and take down. Their lighter weights don’t come at the cost of durability either—specially designed sliding metal brackets hold the flaps at the exact angles that you set them, even after years of folding and unfolding, so you can be sure that you’re getting the perfect light spread every time.

Pre-Order Your Power Beams for 2022!

They’re back! Our Daylight and Tungsten Power Beams are ready for pre-order for 20% off to begin our 2021 End of the Year sale! And with the 8-week lead time, you can start off your 2022 strong with up to 18kW daylight or up to 24kW tungsten. With over 100 units already operating in Europe and over 200 units sold worldwide, there’s no better time than now to see for yourself what all the hype is about.

Filmmakers worldwide asked FilmGear® to bring back beam projectors, so we did that and more. Not only do our Power Beams support higher wattage bulbs for each of the 18”, 24”, and 36” projectors, but they’re also designed with a thicker glass reflector and an overall sturdier build, exemplifying our dedication to durability that lasts. With the additional option of wheeled transport cases, you can safely and easily bring even the massive 36” Power Beams wherever you go.

At full spot, the Power Beams’ columnated shafts of light can be adjusted down to 0° to punch through fog, windows, or even dense forest canopies. Even hundreds of feet away, the beam maintains its pristine shadow definition, yet the edges remain unfocused enough to keep a natural look. Beyond their initial design, the added power of the Power Beams opens up wider flood angles to allow them to be used in similar ways as conventional pars. European filmmakers are already pushing the versatility of these lights in ways that surprise even us!

The dual lamp support just adds to the flexibility of the Power Beam line. While the 18” Tungsten Power Beam only supports 5kW bulbs, it’s still a huge step up from the 2kW bulbs of other 18” tungsten beam projectors. Meanwhile for daylight, the 18” Daylight Power Beam Junior packs 4kW of power into a head that has traditionally used only 1.2kW bulbs. The HMI heads use the same trusty electronic ballasts as FilmGear®’s F-series and Daylight Fresnels, while the Tungsten Power Beams share the electronic dimmers with our Tungsten Fresnels.

Factoring in all of the upgrades to the construction, versatility, and output, you’d think these lights would be reserved for only the biggest budgets, but they’re still cheaper than other beam projectors (most of which you can’t even buy). Add in the 20% pre-order discount from now until the end of the year and you’re getting an unbeatable light at an unbeatable price.

FilmGear® answers the calls of our fellow filmmakers again with the new and improved Power Beams. If you’ve used beam projector on set, but couldn’t find one on the market, now is the perfect opportunity to pre-order one for your next project. Get in touch with us at FilmGear® today to kick off your 2022 with our all-new Power Beams!

Bigger, Brighter, Better: The New Helios 1100C!

Here at FilmGear®, we’ve made it no secret that our bi-color Helios space lights are the reigning winners of NAB’s Product of the Year Award. We were so sure that we could have repeated that success with our first RGB space light, the Helios 700C, last year, but the pandemic cancelled 2020’s show. What it didn’t cancel was two years’ worth of innovation behind the scenes, which is what was unveiled at this year’s Cine Gear LA Expo in the form of the most powerful Helios space light yet: the Helios 1100C. This fixture builds upon the industry-leading CRI and TLCI of the bi-color Helios and adds 1080W of FilmGear®'s efficient RGBW LED chips. Coming Q1 of 2022 with preorders open now, the Helios 1100C is equipped to light even the tallest studios in the brightest colors.

The earlier award-winning models of the Helios series, dubbed the H700 and H1000, were renowned for their high output and color temperature accuracy earning their spot along the ceilings of many major studios. Since then, the engineers at FilmGear® have further optimized the new Helios 700B to get an output nearly double the H1000B. FilmGear® even released the more compact Helios 500B, for smaller studios, while still matching the intensity of the H1000.

Then, FilmGear® went further, adding RGB in the form of the Helios 700C, a light with the functionality to expand the possibilities of the filmmaker's imagination. We also implemented built-in wireless DMX and Bluetooth, along with full support for the traditional DMX/RDM, ethernet, and USB, giving gaffers total control over the light from the ground with their favorite connection of choice. This highly sought-after upgrade was a huge step in eliminating the hassle of gelling hard-to-reach hanging fixtures.

One common issue with RGBW lights compared to bi-color LEDs, however, is sacrificing one white LED for the three colored LEDs. Often, gaffers are forced to prioritize one over the other, and the same is true of the Helios 700B vs 700C (though the Aurora 400C and 200C use RGBW/CW color mixing to get greater output than the 400B and 200B!). With Helios 1100C, you no longer have to choose. This increase in capacity means that you get all the possibilities of the 700C at your disposal, without having to sacrifice the high output of the 700B, effectively giving filmmakers the best of both worlds.

Helios 700C (left) and 1100C (right)

Helios 700C (left) and 1100C (right)

If you’re familiar with FilmGear®’s RGB products, you will feel right at home with the Helios 1100C. The CCT mode allows you to add/subtract green/magenta for easier greenscreen lighting, giving this light more robust bi-color settings than bi-color lights themselves. In RGB, the 1100C literally shines in every category that the 700C does, with more than double the intensity for both the HSI and GEL modes. The Scene mode library includes 11 preset scenes including emergency vehicle flashers, welding sparks, and lightning, with options to import your own.

The Helios 1100C is now available for preorder, and you can try it for yourself by scheduling a demo at our LA location.

Cine Gear Expo Highlights

Last weekend’s Cine Gear Expo at the LA Convention Center was a much needed breath of fresh air after so much time since our last public exhibition. From the new venue to the new products and the new faces, the FilmGear® team had an absolute blast at this year’s show. Here’s some of the highlights if you missed it:

Our most eye-catching lights at this event were definitely the new Power Beams. In addition to being possibly the brightest lights at the entire expo, they also have an absolutely mesmerizing parabolic glass mirror that captured everyone’s fancy. That mirror isn’t just pretty to look at though—it’s a masterpiece of engineering and manufacturing precision, and we’re proud to finally bring it to the U.S. If you want to see these powerful beam projectors struck, feel free to schedule a demo at our South El Monte location by calling 323.780.8880 or by emailing joanna@filmgearusa.com. Over 100 Power Beams are already seeing use in Europe, and preorders for for North America have already begun. With an 8-week lead time to delivery, they’re ready to get straight to work!

P1058207.JPG

A close second in popularity was our 9-headed RGB Maxibrute, the Max 9C. This one we did strike, since it only draws 15A of power, while outputting the RGB equivalent to a 6kW tungsten Maxi. From our peninsula booth location, we had to keep it at roughly 10% intensity for most of the show just to avoid blinding the other booths. If you’d like to see it at full power, or if you just want to play with the various RGB and pattern modes, come schedule a demo with us!

Since this year’s attendance was lower than usual due to Covid, we got a chance to not only speak at greater length about the features and design philosophy that goes into every FilmGear® light but also to listen to your first impressions and feedback. At FilmGear®, we pride ourselves on being engineered for filmmakers, by filmmakers, so we’re excited to be working those suggestions in to improve your user experience.

If you missed us at Cine Gear, you can always schedule a demo to experience both current and future products for yourself before buying.

The RGB Max

It’s no secret that RGB has been a feature heavily sought after for its ability to simplify the gel process and add more creative opportunities on set without slowing down production. However, a big challenge when utilizing RGB lights is their low output compared to HMI and tungsten lights. The new RGB Max is here to address that issue.

maxibrute blog 1.jpg

Incorporating RGBW LED technology into floodlights, the new RGB Max series will further expand the potential of RGB lighting in film. Coming Q1 of 2022, this Goliath of LED is already available for preorders.

This isn’t FilmGear®’s first time dealing with PAR64-style floodlights, with our original Tungsten Maxibrute, incorporating individually strikable heads, having already been around the block a few times. Historically, these lights would’ve first seen a bi-color LED upgrade before making the upgrade to RGB. However, with our recent engineering feats through the Helios RGB space light, the Maxibrute can make the leap into RGB as soon as next year!

The 4, 6, 9 or 12 lampheads of the RGB Max all come equipped with 23º lenses, doubling the throw of bi-color heads and giving you a punch deserving of the brute title. While the old Maxibrute would allow for some control of exposure via switching individual banks on or off, the new RGB Max allows you to control each individual lamphead’s intensity from 0-100%, with 5 preset dimming curves to further fine tune your light’s output. Taking it a step further, with a color temperature range of 2700K-10,000K, you can individually choose which lampheads you want in tungsten and which you want in daylight. All this control and we haven’t even gotten into RGB yet.

The RGB Max comes in:

  • 700C (4 lamp heads)

  • 1100C (6 lamp heads)

  • 1600C (9 lamp heads)

  • 2200C (12 lamp heads)

Just like the Helios, the RGBW chips earned a CRI and TLCI >95. In CCT mode, the user can add and subtract green/magenta to get the most out of their greenscreen. Of course, to get the most RGB utility and get the exact color you're looking for, you can fine-tune the RGB spectrum through the HSI mode. Or, if you like the results of traditional gels, GEL mode comes preset with over 200 Lee and Rosco equivalent filters. Gelling lights, especially lights as powerful as a Maxibrute, can be a hassle and sometimes even a fire hazard. If flames are what you’re looking for, the RGB Max comes with 17 preset patterns in Scene mode, mimicking everything from flickering flames to police sirens to flashing lights. Save time setting up gels with just a couple clicks in HSI or Gel mode and spend more time focusing on telling your story.

cropped side view maxibrute rgb.png

With the RGB Max series, users can expect the most advanced onboard control panel yet. With as many features as the RGB Max has to offer, new users will appreciate the efficient and intuitive navigation menu to get to the exact setting they want. Studios and crews experienced with globed lights can smoothly transition from PAR64 floodlights, with no need to sacrifice quality in lighting designs. The RGB Max is built to fit into the modern set, with no need to adjust technique or set-up. While simple in integration, the RGB Max is extremely versatile in application. Additional patterns and scenes can be programmed directly into the menu to suit your creative ambitions. In terms of connectivity, the RGB Max is equipped with every control option in the book, including: DMX/RDM, Ethernet, USB, and built-in wireless DMX and Bluetooth by LumenRadio, allowing for full control of the fixture from the comfort of your console.

Available accessories for the RGB Max include softboxes and soft eggcrates.

That’s going to be it for this week, but fear not, FilmGear® still has lots of goodies to unveil in the coming weeks so be sure to check back next week to see what other goodies we’re getting ready to release!

The New and Improved Power Beam

The Cine Gear Expo is right around the corner! As you may know, due to Covid-19, there was no Cine Gear 2020. For us that means that we now have two years of new products, pushing the envelope of film lighting technology, to announce. We are so excited to unveil a plethora of new products this year, starting with the new and improved Power Beam! Coming Q1 of 2022. Pre-Orders available now!

Back by popular demand and bigger than ever, the new Power Beam is available in daylight up to 18kW and tungsten up to 24kW. The highly reflective parabolic glass mirror in the lamphead paired with an adjustable beam angle all the way down to 0° gives this light an incredible throw. Even from a whopping 328ft, the 18kW model puts out 673fc, while maintaining the beam’s 3ft diameter, comfortably putting the Power Beam at the top of its class.

The massive output of this light is enough to imitate a sunlight source through foliage, with its soft edges giving a more natural look. The tight beam angle of the Power Beam lets you get bright shafts of light that can give the impression of an even more powerful source. The versatility of this light reveals itself in the hands of a clever crew. Group a few Power Beams together and you can fake the parallel shadows on the moon coming from the distant sun, although FilmGear® won't be responsible for any conspiracy theories!

Powerful RGB Lights 30% OFF for the Final Week of FilmGear®'s Summer Sales!

It’s finally time to talk about the new and exciting innovations in the film lighting industry, RGB. RGB lights offer seemingly endless creative potential for filmmakers and photographers. At 30% off, now is the perfect time to dive deeper into RGB with FilmGear®’s Aurora panels and Helios space lights.

Untitled design.png

Aurora Panel: Starting from $2,646.00

Packing 400W or 200W of efficient RGBW/CW LEDs into a 2x1 or 1x1 frame, the Aurora improves upon the industry-leading output and color accuracy of FilmGear®’s CCT panels by adding the versatility of the HSI, GEL, and Scene modes.

aurora bts 4.jpg
Screen+Shot+2020-03-19+at+2.56.14+PM.png

CCT mode allows the light to operate as a more familiar bi-color panel with several useful bonuses. In addition to the increased color temperature range from 2700K-10,000K, the 400C outputs an industry-leading 180fc at 10ft, which can be dimmed 0-100% with the 5 preset dimming curves: linear, exponential, logarithmic, S, and TV. You can also add and subtract green (or magenta) light. If you work with green screens a lot then this added benefit is a must have to properly key your subjects.

HSI mode puts the full RGB spectrum at your disposal, allowing you to fine tune the exact color you need. You can get everything from the faintest hints of color to the most saturated punches of light, all without sacrificing intensity with the R/G/B/W/CW color mixing.

The Aurora’s GEL mode includes hundreds of standard gel presets, making it crucial timesaver for experienced professionals who are used to the lighting filters that they know and love. Say goodbye to the hassle of setting up and maintaining physical gels, which are susceptible to deterioration or burning. Swapping between gels or changing the source light from tungsten to daylight becomes as simple as a twist of a knob.

Scene mode is an absolute game changer with its programmable special effects patterns. In scene mode you can mimic the flickering of a fire, the flashing of police beacons, the glow of a television washing over a subject's face, and so much more, with just one light. Scene mode comes preset with 8 scenes: police lights, storm, fire, party, candle, TV, fireworks and club lights. Each has settings for adjusting the frequency of the patterns allowing you to choose between the flickering glow of a dying campfire and the raging inferno of a burning building. With the option to import more scenes via USB, you can now get the effects of complex and dynamic practical lighting while still maintaining the quality and control of professional grade film lights.

Softboxes, barndoors, and eggcrates are all available for the Aurora.

High Power CCT Panel: Starting from $1,379.00

If you just need the raw output of the Aurora then consider its bi-color cousin, the High Power CCT Panel. Also available in 400W and 200W, the CCT Panel is the quick and simple option for adding a boost of diffuse light wherever and whenever you need it.

c400 bts.jpg
aurora bts 5.jpg

The CCT Panel boasts an output of 158fc from 10ft at 5600K daylight, and still gives you that soft, even distribution of light you expect from FilmGear®'s LED panels. The straightforward LCD menu also allows you to adjust the color temperature from 2700K-6000K with preset buttons for the most used color temperatures. This panel has an industry class leading CRI and TLCI of >95.

With its easy set-up and high output, the High Power CCT Panel has its place on any set. Soft and hard eggcrates are available for reducing light spill, as well as a softbox for further diffusion. Barndoors are also an option for the CCT Panel to further shape your light.

Helios CCT: Starting from $1,456.00

Reigning winners of NAB’s Product of the Year award, the Helios series LED space lights have only continued their upwards trajectory with improvements to their already stellar performance and adding new members to the family.

helios bts 3.jpg
helios bts.jpg

Back in 2019, the H700 and H1000 bi-color space lights, later renamed 700B and 1000B, both won awards on the strength of their raw output and incredible color temperature accuracy, with CRI and TLCI exceeding 95. Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic may have hit the film industry hard, but FilmGear®’s engineers did not spend that time idling, instead optimizing the Helios 700B for illuminance and throw to nearly double the H1000 model’s output. Though the 700B is the favorite among large studios, FilmGear® also added the smaller Helios 500B based on the same LED design, but in a more compact form ideal for smaller studios, while still matching the intensity of the H1000.

Loaded with adjustable color temp, preset dimming curves, and configurable fan speeds, the Helios series is designed to minimize upkeep after setup. You can often find these lights lining the ceilings of major studios for many months without needing servicing, which really lets you make full use of the 30,000+ hours of LED lifespan.

Each Helios 700B comes with a silk skirt and target assembly, a solid black skirt, and a 3-point rigging chain for use as a hanging set. Additional accessories for the Helios include octagonal softbox, octagonal eggcrate, and a yoke mount for use as a skypan.

Helios RGB: Starting from $4,060.00

The much more colorful cousin to the bi-color Helios, the Helios 700C has arrived to raise the bar even higher. Building upon their industry-leading CRI and TLCI, the Helios 700C adds the versatility of FilmGear®’s RGBW LEDs to make it easy to get the light you want with less work.

Phasing out traditional gels is an idea that already has grips and gaffers excited. Adding gels is tedious and can become time consuming, especially when those gels need to go up onto hanging space lights. The Helios 700C features all of the same modes as the Aurora panel, so you don’t have to stress about getting gels up in the truss again or worry about burning gels and setting off smoke detectors on the ceiling.

While there are a wide selection of LED skypans, few RGB ones exist, and even fewer have the usefulness of the yoke-mounted Helios 700C. Shine it through a window in CCT or GEL mode to capture that golden sunset look, or spice things up with preset scenes to imitate a crime scene or celebratory fireworks.

When it comes to hanging sets though, space lights are best when they can be left untouched. To that end, the 700C is equipped with the entire gamut of wired and wireless connection options, including DMX/RDM, Ethernet, USB, wireless DMX, and Bluetooth, giving you full control over the fixture in any of its modes.

LEDs with increasingly high outputs are taking over many of the film industry’s favorite lights, and we’re offering a chance to get ahead with a 30% discount on our Helios and Aurora series, now through Labor Day. That means this week is the last week of all of our Summer Sales, so don’t miss out on these deals!

Apollo, LED-Profile and Flo-Box Sale

Welcome back to another week of FilmGear® sales! This week is dedicated to some of our most popular LEDs: The Apollo series, LED Profile, and LED Flo-Box. With bi-color options offering more efficiency than traditional globed lights without sacrificing quality. It’s easy to see why LEDs are replacing traditional globes.

The Apollo Series: Stating From $1,106

These LED powered Fresnel lights are simply ahead of the game. The Apollo series outperforms similar wattage Fresnel lights, both HMI and tungsten. These lights eliminate the need for separate HMI and tungsten lampheads altogether. No more warm-up times, no more scalding hot lights, and no more changing globes, unless you count having to swap a few LEDs once every 30,000+ hours (~3.5 years) of use.

The Apollo series comes in 500W daylight and tungsten, 300W bi-color, 150W bi-color, and 90W bi-color. Featuring the same ripple lenses in our HMI and tungsten fresnels, you get the same even distribution of light that you’ve come to expect from FilmGear®, without spottiness or fraying.

Apollo 500 copy.jpg

In addition to the quality of light, the Apollo’s raw output is simply unmatched. At full flood, the A150 gives 216fc at 10ft compared to the 135fc of other LEDs with similar power draws. Even the A90 doubles the output of other 90W LED film lights. In daylight, the 500W Apollo gives a similar output to a 1.2kW HMI fresnel. In tungsten, the 500W outshines a 2kW tungsten fresnel.

Each model comes equipped with an LCD menu to control dimming, color temperature, and fan speed. You have total say over the light’s intensity from 0%-100% in the “Dimming” section of the menu, eliminating the need to ever use scrims again. For even more control over your output, the Apollo offers 5 preset options for dimming curves: linear, exponential, logarithmic, S and TV. With adjustable color temperatures ranging from 2700K-6000K you have the full power of both daylight and tungsten at your disposal.

Untitled-1.jpg

These lights stay cool because they have built in fans. Don’t worry, they aren’t noisy, but just to be safe, the LCD menu has fan options for auto, low-speed, and off, a feature the sound crew will really appreciate. The screen displays the temperature of the Apollo’s body in Celsius for full transparency in regards to the health of the light. In addition to keeping the set temp comfortable, the low heat of the Apollo allows you to get gels as close as you want to the light without setting off the smoke alarm.

If you’re the one loading and unloading the truck, then it’s worth noting that the heaviest Apollo weighs only 33lb and the 90W option is under 7lb. These lights don’t require a ballast either, so the set-up is minimal in both time and labor with this DMX compatible and daisy chain-able light.

Apollos come with 4-leaf barndoors and the options of soft boxes and filter frames.

LED Profile Series: Starting From $1,652

These spotlights normally see use on theater stages, but have their place on the DMX board of a clever gaffer. The FilmGear® Bi-color LED Profile series stands out from the competition with their low operating temperature and super long bulb life.

The LED Profile series are all based off our 300W LED lights but have different ellipsoidal reflector lens barrels to focus the light into a neat circle. These barrels come in fixed angles of 50°, 36°, 26°, and 19°, or in adjustable barrels that range from 25° to 50° or 16° to 28°, great for doing multiple shots with minimal setup.

The Profiles are great for shaping light to fit just what is needed for a shot. The integrated cutters and gobo adapter can shape the light to simulate a window or door without the need to set up more stands to hold flags and cutters.

The efficiency of the bulbs and the built in cooling fans lead to a much cooler lamp housing and set. The lower heat means they can be easily operated and moved on set with less time waiting for the lights to cool off. That combined with the handle on the back means that they can be easily aimed to exactly where they are needed.

Our LEDs have a rated bulb life of 30,000 hours! That's roughly 15 times longer than a traditional tungsten bulb and it means that you won’t have to get a ladder up to it any time soon to change the bulb.

Setting these lights up is a breeze. Each light in the Profile series takes so little power that you can daisy chain up to 5 of them together off of one outlet in a 110V 15A circuit, or up to 14 times if its a 220V 20A circuit (as always, check with your on set electrician first). Gone are the days of fiddling around with splitter cables at the top of a ladder, just get a boxful of cables and start chaining!

Flo Boxes: Starting From $252.80

Even with the wave of LED panels that have taken over the industry recently, the LED Flo-Box remains the lighter, more durable, and more cost-efficient option. Against fluorescent Flo-Boxes, the LED Flo-Box is miles ahead for its durability, efficiency, and convenience.

The Flo-Box comes in 4-bank 4-ft, 4-bank 2-ft, 2-bank 4-ft, 2-bank 2-ft , and Singles(2-ft/ 4-ft), all weighing under 14lb. Even the heaviest Flo-Box will still be a quicker set-up than most panels on the market, without sacrificing much in the way of brightness. The Flo-Box will get you a nice soft output with the 4-bank 4-ft model giving off 38fc from 10ft, although the LED flo tubes are cool enough that your subjects can be much closer. This is the same output of a 300W fluorescent Flo-Box while only drawing 160W, making it almost twice as efficient.

Unlike fluorescent lights, the LED flo tubes are tough and won’t shatter if dropped, though we still wouldn’t recommend trying. Additionally, if you want to switch between tungsten and daylight with fluorescents, you will have to change the flo bank entirely. The LED Flo-Box is dual color so switching between 5600K daylight and 3200K tungsten is a flip of a switch. If you only need one color temperature, single color LED Flo-Boxes are available as well for 60% off.

All Flo Boxes include mounting brackets, eggcrates, power cables with dimming switch and two on/off switches.

The Flo-Box will remain the go-to option for key lighting beauty shots and interviews due to its light weight, efficiency, durability, and affordability. Now at 30% off, this already low priced light can get even more bang for its buck.
